zombienurse: Asian Horror Movie Review: Wishing Stairs (Korean)When I first discovered my love for Asian horror movies Wishing Stairs was definitely my favorite one, and although it isn’t my top fave anymore I still love it just the same. It’s the third of the series of Korean films that takes place in girls high-schools beginning with 1998’s Whispering Corridors (which I also own and will probably review later on), most of the films in the series are really good as well. Wishing Stairs is a story full of jealousy and longing. Legend has it if you climb the 28 stairs leading to the school dormitory and count each step out loud, a 29th step will appear and a spirit will grant you a wish, however, if you’re intentions are not honorable your wish becomes more of a curse. The characters are pretty interesting and all unique, but to tell the truth sometimes it’s hard to figure out who’s who, especially when you’re watching it for the first time, and like most of the films in the series there are hints at lesbianism (so if you have a problem with that than don’t watch). I don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t say too much about the plot but obviously one of the wishes leads to a ghost. The ghost itself is your basic Asian horror movie ghost, long hair and pale skin, but to tell the truth she really isn’t scary. There are a few scenes where she gives you the creeps but she definitely can’t hold a candle to similar ghosts such as Kayako (Ju-on) when it comes to scaring the shit out of you. I found this movie more sad than scary, it’s nice if you want to watch one on you’re own or if you’re not in the mood to get scared out of you’re mind. Some parts of it are a little confusing and you might have to watch it more than once to truly understand it all but it’s definitely worth watching.

zombienurse: Asian Horror Movie Review: Sick Nurses (Thai/English Dub) So everyone seemed to like the picture of my collection of horror movies so I thought I’d give my opinion on some of them, so here goes: To begin with, I love this movie. It’s definitely one of the more ridiculous ones, not really that scary, it’s more gross than anything but still, somehow I end up watching it a lot more than I realize. Basically it’s about seven nurses and a doctor who have been selling body parts of dead patients on the black market until one of the nurses threatens to go to the cops after falling in love with the doctor. They murder her and her ghost returns seven days later to kill all the nurses in equally terrible and ridiculous ways, oh, and all in ten minutes, I’m serious. The nurses are all babes, so if you want a movie with hot girls here you go. However, these really have to be the most terrible nurses in existence, for one, they all seem much too busy to actually do their jobs since you never actually see them taking care of any of the patients, they’re all bitches (one throws a kitten!!), and they each have their own creepy obsessions, some even bordering on incest >_< In the version I have you can either watch it with subtitles or with the English dub, I find the dub kind of corny sounding but if you’re not in the mood for subtitles then go for it. If you’re looking for a movie with a ghost that will scare the shit out of you, this isn’t it. The ghost, well in my opinion, isn’t scary at all, most of the times it looks like they just painted a girl black and made her wear a blondish wig and fish nets (not fish net stockings, like actual fishing nets), overall, just kind of silly. However there are lots of gross moments, I wouldn’t say super gory like Saw, but there are definitely parts that will make you cringe and look away as well as some dorky ones that will make you laugh. The ending…I’m not gonna spoil anything…but it’s probably the most ridiculous part of the whole movie XD Basically, if you’re looking for big scares look elsewhere, but if you’re looking for a kind of silly movie you won’t have to take too seriously this is a good one to watch, as long as you don’t mind a dorky mixture of blood and revenge.

But my all time favorite is APT (Apartment, Korean) but I can never find it!
